The first step toward CIW certification is the CIW Foundations series. After successful completion of the Foundations exam, candidates are awarded a CIW Associate certification and then candidates can choose from four Master CIW certification tracks. Candidates who pass the CIW Foundations can earn the CIW Professional designation upon passing any CIW job role series exam. CIW Professionals may earn Master CIW Administrator, Master CIW Designer, Master CIW Enterprise Developer, or Master CIW Web Site Manager designation after completing all the series in a track
Additionally a candidate who holds a premier networking certification can acquire CIW Security Analyst status by passing the Security Professional exam.
A candidate can gain CIW Web Developer certification by passing the Web Developer (J-Cert) exam.
CIW Associate
Certified CIW Associates possess the basic hands-on skills and knowledge that Internet professionals are expected to understand and use. Foundational skills include basic knowledge of Internet technologies, network infrastructure, and Web authoring using HTML.
CIW Professional
CIW candidates can gain CIW Professional status upon earning the CIW Associate certification and passing any one of eight CIW job-role exams. CIW Professional certifications can be earned in disciplines such as Web site design, security, server administration, application development or database management.
Master CIW Designer
Composed of two five-day series, each series representing an Internet job role with its own exam (Site Designer and E-Commerce Designer series).
Master CIW Administrator
Composed of three five-day series, each series representing an Internet job role with its own exam (Server Administrator, Internetworking Professional, and Security Professional series).
CIW Security Analyst
Security Analysts protect an organization's assets and operations. This CIW certified professional has earned a Master CIW Administrator certification or holds a vendor-specific networking certification prior to passing the CIW Security Professional exam.
CIW Web Developer
This specialized job role for CIW and the jCert Initiative certification programs validates the skills and knowledge required to assemble and maintain JavaTM-based Web applications. Web Developers focus on the business-requirements aspect of the application development cycle.
Master CIW Web Site Manager
Composed of three five-day series, each series representing an Internet job role with its own exam (Site Designer, Server Administrator and Web Languages series).
Master CIW Enterprise Developer
Our most comprehensive program, composed of three Internet job roles (Application Developer, Database Specialist, and Enterprise Developer series) and three additional language exams (JavaScript and Perl, Java Programming, and Object-Oriented Analysis).
