Newbury – 19 June 2007 - 2e2, a leading provider of mission-critical IT Services and Solutions, has won this year’s Sunday Times’ Fast Track 100 award for best use of technology.  Announced at the Fast Track 100 awards dinner, held at Sir Richard Branson’s Oxfordshire home, 2e2 received the award for the development and implementation of an innovative solution that protects Deloitte’s property and data in Holland.

 

2e2 provides an extensive portfolio aligned across five principal areas of business, which includes managed services, professional services, unified communications, data management and server & client. 

 

As part of its managed services offering it was appointed by Deloitte to improve its property and data security.  The solution involved Deloitte’s 7000 employees across 55 sites in the Netherlands being issued with a smart card that indicates his or her right of accessibility to both physical and digital property.  It allows a user to work in a common environment from any office and workstation and, having entered the appropriate authentication details, connects them to appropriate file stores.  The system provides Deloitte with ideal security support and also ensures compliance with building and financial services regulations.

 

The system, developed by 2e2, is based on Microsoft’s Active Directory software, and focuses on Deloitte’s Dutch data storage, firewalls and internet/email filtering.  2e2’s design integrated the core Microsoft technologies with smart card, entry control, security and secure printing components to produce an innovative solution that’s been warmly received across the corporation.
