Challenge
- With approximately 4.800 employees across 25 international locations, this London legal firm is one of the largest and most respected law firms in the world. In addition to frequent communications between global offices, the firm requires a massive amount of voice, data and multi-media communications capacity to meet the daily requirements of its clients.
Solution
- Provide the services to supply, implement and support a high performance converged network infrastructure of voice, video and data across its UK corporate IT operations including a new corporate headquarters in the City of London of 750,000 sq ft and a new data centre facility.
- Under the terms of the 3 year agreement in excess of £6m, consolidate communications onto a new converged infrastructure based on market leading technology. The move will support the firm’s strategy to consolidate and centralize overall IT Infrastructure while increasing security, flexibility and performance.
- Developed a partnership to roll out IP Communications to international offices and 2e2 was also subsequently selected to manage the global IT Security perimeter services.

- Custom tailoring includes phone-based corporate imagery and XML applications to directly enhance their key business performance metric (Fee earner productivity) through voice and directory enabled applications linking billing and client matter codes to individuals and their communications.
- Implementation costs for the new Headquarters were optimised through a converged deployment. The success of the HQ has served as a catalyst for a more wide-ranging Regionalisation project enabling additional benefits of Unified Communications to be gained such as mobility.
- 2e2’s integration of new video conferencing systems with the new telephony system to form an integrated communications system has further enhanced user productivity and delivered firm-wide cost savings.
- The dual site high performance data centre design offers the highest levels of reliability and performance supporting the business needs for the foreseeable future.
- Unified Communications has also improved the operational efficiency of the voice environment.
