We have successfully launched our first 2e2 Newbury Apprentice programme.
On 18th July 2008, 2e2 announced the winners of its Newbury Apprentice 2008 – Gemma Phillips, 19 from Peter Symonds College, and Jamie King, 19 from Newbury College. The lucky winners are today embarking on a summer of work experience at 2e2, attending regular board meetings with our top executives, and giving us a different perspective on how we can use technology within the workplace.
The competition was designed so that 2e2 could gain a valuable insight into the workforce of the future and how it operates. This age group, Generation Y*, is the first to grow up using IT and the internet to communicate with its peers and is therefore more experienced in the technologies that are associated with this – including real-time collaboration, social networking, IM, texting. 2e2 wanted to harvest this knowledge, using it to gain an understanding into how businesses can improve their processes and procedures in order to gain a competitive advantage.
